Policy Formation & Implementation Introduction
According to Georgetown University Child Development Center’s National Technical Assistance Center for Children's Mental Health, the achievement of cultural and linguistic competence and the elimination of disparities in systems of care require changes at every systems level including policy making, administration, workforce recruitment and training, service delivery, families and communities. In working to improve our communities, there must be effective leaders at the helm. Leaders take responsibility for the vision, direction, objectives, and goals of an organization. In this section, Policy Formation and Implementation, we will focus on many aspects of policy development and implementation. This section will provide the user with a realistic process and tools to use in the changing of organizational, inter-agency, and community policy and procedures.
